Or, why I hope birds shit all over Ted Cruz’s car
Big Bird got vaccinated.
While those are four words I never thought I’d type, here we are.
I also never thought we’d experience a global pandemic like this one that’s savagely ravaged the planet for the past two years, so what do I know?
I know this: that Sesame Street has been a terrific educational kid’s program for more than 50 years now. I watched the show when I was little, and today my son watches it. When he’s a little older, I’ll explain to him that daddy watched this same show when I was his age.
About the lovable Muppet cast, author Malcolm Gladwell wrote that “Sesame Street was built around a single, breakthrough insight: that if you can hold the attention of children, you can educate them.”
They have done a remarkable job of this for over five decades now — an accomplishment to not only be recognized but generously applauded.
Sesame Workshop, which produces the show, has always made positive efforts to keep up with the changing times, bringing important cultural issues to the forefront and presenting them in an entertaining yet relatable…
